There are many ways to support Elderly Services
Our work caring for some of the most vulnerable members of our community and supporting their families and caregivers is made possible through the generosity of the many friends of Elderly Services.
The Internal Revenue Service has granted Elderly Services Inc. status as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization, so contributions to ESI are tax-deductible.
Your support is essential and deeply appreciated. Making a gift online is probably the easiest way to help, but there are many others.

Other ways to help …
Become a sustaining donor
Simplify your giving by joining a growing number of sustaining donors to Elderly Services. You can do this using our PayPal online giving site (no PayPal membership required) or by contacting us at 802.388.3983.
Sustaining donors make a convenient recurring gift. You save time, paper and postage, and your automatic monthly or annual contribution provides reliable funding for Elderly Services. You can change or cancel your recurring pledge at any time.
Make a gift in honor or in memory of …
Making a gift to Elderly Services in memory of or in honor of a family member or friend is a lovely way to support our important work, and it’s quite simple to do.
Gifts can be sent directly to Executive Director Kristin Bolton at P.O. Box 581, Middlebury, VT 05753. Please include a separate note (or notation on your check) indicating the name of the person you are honoring, and who we should notify of your gift. You can also make gifts in memory or honor of someone via our online giving page. Questions? Give us a call at 802.388.3983. Thank you.
Give a gift of stock
By making a gift of appreciated securities you can avoid paying capital gains taxes, receive a tax deduction on the full value of the gift, and support Elderly Services. It’s surprisingly easy to do. Please email Kristin Bolton or call her at 802.388.3983 for details.
Make a gift from your IRAs
If you are age 70½ or older, you can make a Qualified Charitable Donation (QCD) to Elderly Services from your Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs).
Starting in the year in which you have reached age 73, these donations can come from your Required Minimum Distribution, which would otherwise be counted as taxable income. (State tax rules on QCD’s vary, so donors using charitable distributions should consult a tax advisor.)
Your financial institution needs to issue the check directly to us, and the gift must be made by December 31 of the tax year. Contact your financial advisor or visit their website to obtain a simple form to fill out, and be sure to include the Elderly Services mailing address: P.O. Box 581, Middlebury, VT 05456.
Leave a legacy with a bequest or planned gift
You don’t have to be wealthy to leave a legacy. By naming Elderly Services a beneficiary in your will, living trust, or retirement accounts, you can support the organization’s important work for generations to come.
To make such a gift to Elderly Services simply use the following language for specific bequest:
“I give and bequeath unto Elderly Services, tax ID# 03-0280968, the sum of $_____ to be used for general charitable purposes.”
Please email Kristin Bolton, executive director, or call her at 802.388.3983 for more information.
